RULES FOR SUBMITTING PAPERS

SUBJECT MATTER

The subject matter of the papers submitted to the Congress must relate to the following topics or areas:

– Advances in Catalyst Structures and Architectures

– Sustainable Petrochemical Processes

– Catalyzed Fine Chemical Processes

– C1 Catalysis

– Catalysis and Energy

– Environmental Catalysis

– Waste Valorisation

– Photocatalysis: Biocatalysis and Homogeneous – Heterogeneous Catalysis

– Miscellaneous

LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION

The last date for submitting papers* is 20 February 2019.

*Note: each person registered may submit a maximum of 2 papers.

*All registered speakers of the Secat´19 will have the possibility to publish their full-length manuscript (after full peer review process) as a Special Issue in Molecular Catalysis (Elsevier).

FORMAT FOR PRESENTATION AT THE CONGRESS

Oral or poster. The author should indicate whether they choose oral or poster-type presentation of their paper, although the Scientific Committee may change the definitive form of presentation* in order to organise the congress better.

*Note: if the author chooses oral presentation, it is possible that the Organising Committee may change this to a flash presentation.

STEPS TO FOLLOW DURING THE PAPER SUBMISSION PROCESS

Read the “Rules for submitting papers” carefully.

Click on “Next” below to begin the paper submission process.

Once you are in the online paper submission process, do as follows:

PERSONAL DETAILS: You must fill in the details required for the main author, which are compulsory.

WORKPLACES: Set out the various workplaces taking part in the paper, including the department, institution, town/city and country.

AUTHORS: Name and surnames, in lower case, of the various authors, giving the workplace number for each author. Select the main author and presenting author and input their respective e-mail addresses.

TOPIC/AREA: Select the relevant topic or area.

TYPE: Select your presentation preference: Oral or Poster.

TITLE OF THE PAPER: Input the paper’s title.

UPLOAD PDF: Upload your paper to the application in PDF format.

The length of the paper should be 2 pages of A4 (210mm x 297mm), adjusting left and right margins (20mm), with a top margin of 35mm and a bottom margin of 20mm. Calibri font, or equivalent. Line spacing: Single.

Title:

Calibri Font, 14pt and bold. Maximum 2 lines.

Authors:

Calibri Font, 12pt and bold. Show name and surname (lower case, sentence-type) separated by a “,” and showing each author’s Workplace with its relevant number in superscript. Underline the presenting author and put a superscript asterisk by the main author.

Workplaces:

Calibri Font, 10pt and italics. Set out the Workplaces taking part in the paper, with their number and department, institution, town/city and country.

Main author: Main author’s e-mail address. Calibri Font, 10pt and italics.

The paper should be divided into four sections: Introduction, Experiments, Results and discussion, and Conclusions.

The headings “Introduction”, “Experiments”, “Results and discussion”, and “Conclusion” should be Calibri Font, 11pt and bold.

The main text of each section: Calibri font, 11pt. Justified

The titles of tables and figure footnotes should be shown in 9pt lettering, with a one line separation from the body text (see below). All bibliographical references should be in 9pt lettering, following the order they appear with superscript numbers (starting from 1) in the text, and appearing after the Conclusions section.

ACCEPTANCE OF PAPERS

Each paper will be assessed by the Scientific Committee before definitive acceptance.

Definitive acceptance of the papers, and their type of presentation, will be notified from 1 April 2019 onwards. The definitive format for presentation (oral or poster) may be consulted from 30 April 2019 onwards, as may the rules for presentation and the ROOM, DAY and START TIME for the presentation session assigned.

RULES FOR PRESENTING PAPERS ORALLY

The only audiovisual support allowed for presenting papers orally is PowerPoint. Each author will have a maximum of 10 minutes for the presentation, plus 5 minutes for discussion.

RULES FOR FLASH PRESENTATION OF PAPERS

The only audiovisual support allowed for presenting papers orally is PowerPoint. Each author will have a maximum of 5 minutes for presentation and discussion.

RULES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION

Each work selected for this option will be presented using a traditional, hard copy poster. Adhesive tape will be provided to fix the posters to the panels. It will not be possible to use audiovisual media. The maximum poster size is A0 (0.841m wide x 1.189 m high).

SUBMISSION PROCESS

1. Pre-register by registering on the platform with your personal details.

2. Once you have registered, go to the “enter” section and input your e-mail address and password, as given to you in the previous process, to start the paper submission process.

3. Once you have gone through the process, confirmation of receipt of your application will appear at the top of the page and you can see your application in PDF format.

4. You can see all the registrations made in the Congress in your personal area, by clicking the My Account button.
